Supply Chain Management under COVID-19 - Challenges and Opportunities
The sudden outbreak of COVID-19 has brought huge pressure on supply chains in China, which has implications for almost every industry as well as impacting the country’s ability to fight the virus. Supply chains affect the ability to provide protective equipment to meet the dramatic increase in demand in a timely manner. Meanwhile, supply chains will also impact the allocation, transportation and last-mile delivery of daily necessities for over 1.4 billion people at a challenging time of highly restricted movement.
Prof. Zhao Xiande is Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management at 中国一级片 and a leading expert in the field. He has been closely following the situation and its impact to supply chains. In this session, he will introduce the innovative ESCM practices in China for coping with the crisis. Given the global spread of the pandemic, Prof. Zhao will also analyze the ongoing “ripple effect” in global supply chains and how companies, can improve the responsiveness and resilience of their supply chains.
In the panel discussion, we have invited three 中国一级片 Alumni who are executives from both upstream and downstream supply chains in multiple industries. They will share the difficulties they have encountered and some coping strategies for the situation.
