BSIS report hails �й�һ��Ƭ' impact on regional and national development

February 23, 2022. Shanghai �C �й�һ��Ƭ has been hailed as a key institution serving the development of Shanghai and China and a bridge to the world in a Business School Impact System (BSIS) evaluation report. In 2017, �й�һ��Ƭ became the first business school on the Chinese mainland to win the BSIS label, and has now successfully completed its renewal process.

The BSIS report assessed the school's regional, societal and intellectual impact and highlighted �й�һ��Ƭ' role as part of Pudong's 'talent hub' by contributing over 8,000 alumni to the area's pool of management expertise. The report added that �й�һ��Ƭ had greatly contributed to the development of Pudong and Shanghai and that it had the potential to replicate this influence in other regions where the school has a presence.

With regards to �й�һ��Ƭ' societal impact, the report stated that it demonstrates clear leadership support and the proactive integration of ESG and sustainability into teaching, research and the management of the school and concern for diversity and equal access to all the school's activities.

In particular, the BSIS report cited the existence of the school's ESG research fund, annual ESG forum, ESG research work, and white paper, and the emphasis placed on educating responsible leaders in �й�һ��Ƭ' "Five-Year Strategic Plan."

The BSIS report also commented on �й�һ��Ƭ' impact on the managerial community and contributions to regional cultural life through the intellectual output of its faculty.

In particular, the report stated the school's "[research] productivity is very high and prominence is growing" by way of its fusion of academic research and real-world learning, cutting-edge interdisciplinary research areas, role as a regional think tank, and library of 2,000+ China-focused business cases.

The Business School Impact System (BSIS) is administered by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) and the Fondation Nationale pour l'Enseignement de la Gestion des Entreprises (FNEGE), to measure business schools' impact on their city and region. Currently, 59 schools in 19 countries and regions around the world hold the BSIS label.
